Your First Visit to Shine Family Dentistry
We want your first visit to be smooth, comfortable and stress-free. Please arrive 15 minutes early and plan to spend about 60–90 minutes with us. To make your visit easier, please:
- Complete your medical history form (below) before arriving
- Bring your dental insurance card (if applicable) and a valid photo ID
Dr. Patrick Shine will take time to understand your health history and smile goals. We’ll review all findings, explain your options and discuss any costs involved. During your visit, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history
- Perform a thorough oral exam, including X-rays if needed
- Discuss your smile goals and any concerns
- Create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs

We accept a wide range of dental insurance plans, including in-network coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and Delta Dental. Our team is happy to verify your coverage and explain your options. For added convenience, we offer full transparency about our service fees and flexible financing through CareCredit®.

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Delta Dental, and are happy to submit insurance claims for out-of-network plans. Check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage details. Our team is here to help you make the most of your benefits and achieve a healthy, confident smile. Our practice does not participate with government insurance programs, including Medicaid. If you have Medicaid coverage, we recommend contacting NC DHHS to find a participating dentist in your area.
